Sometimes it’s hard to think of what to write. Let’s face it, we all go through it. Sometimes we need something to jolt our creativity and to jump-start our writing. Writing exercises are short activities that try to get you past the writer’s block you are probably experiencing, and back on track to do the kind of writing you want to do.
Think of three of your favorite movies. Consider the main character and the villain. Their approach, and personalities are sometimes quite different, and they have opposing objectives in the story. Select your favorite scene in one of the movies and re-write it with the main character and the villain’s personalities flip-flopped. Don’t change their goals, however.
The purpose of this exercise is to let you write without worrying about all of the story elements. All you need to focus on is the main character, and the villain. Switch their personalities, but not their goals. Leave some comments and let me know how it went.
Hi,
Could you share some tips on their, they’re and there. Sometimes they are so hard to figure out.
