Inspiration for Writing

As a writer, new ideas are critical for your success. Everyday I wake up at six am and try to come up with something that I can write for this blog, for example. But how do you keep the ideas coming? Here is a quick list of sources of inspiration for your writing:

• Scan the newspaper for current events
• Watch TV or advertisements (too much of this has the opposite effect)
• Take a walk (don’t take anything with you, except maybe your journal or note pad)
• Take a different route to work
• Use a white board to brainstorm
• Flip through a magazine
• Use Google to search for topics
• Go to the library to see what book topics are being covered
• Sign up for a writing class
• Join a writer’s forum or chat online

There are many more things you can do. This is just a list of things I have tried. The point is that there are many ways to reach out and grab some inspiration, if only you are willing to change things up a bit, and try something new.
